Yes. It is a proven thing. You can watch in many people who were above 60 and 70. They likely to diminish by height. They are really weak and if they fall their bones will crack. It is very difficult to rectify their weakness unless otherwise they take adequate calcium in their daily meal.

Thank you for this question. It's a good one.
The answer is yes! Osteoporosis does cause loss of height due to degeneration of the spine and vertebral disks.
We generally lose about a half inch for each 10 years we age after 40. However by getting adequate calcium, vitamin-D, and doing resistance exercise, we can largely prevent osteoporosis and greatly diminish the loss of height that would otherwise occur.
Bones DO become brittle in older people as they lose bone density. This can greatly increase the risks of fractures, but again, strength training exercise can largely prevent this, along with proper nutrition.
